K9 Instincts is exceptional. So grateful to have found this program! There’s a family in my town who always brings their dogs to our kids soccer games , & they are the most well behaved dogs I’ve ever seen (both are rescues). I learned that they went to the K9 Instincts boarding/training program, so when I started looking for a puppy, I reached out right away. Not only did Matt help me select my puppy (their team is skilled at temperament testing) , but their training has been PHENOMENAL. I’ve never raised a puppy and have absolutely no clue what I’m doing - they provided sound guidance and advice throughout the entire process of integrating a puppy into our home. Lifesaver! Cricket came to us when she was about 2 months old & she recently turned 5 months. We had a few in-home puppy lessons followed by the 4 week boarding program, and I am over the moon happy with the end result. She knows all of her commands, respects boundaries and rules, & follows my instructions without issue. This program gave me exactly what I was looking for! (Did I mention that after only 1 lesson with Brit, Cricket completely stopped chewing on things aside from her toys? That in itself is amazing!) They are always just a text or phone call away, which was very helpful for me as someone who has never had a puppy. Every suggestion they gave me to troubleshoot random puppy antics was effective. Cricket is very friendly but also VERY excitable , & until she completed this boarding program , she would pee any time she encountered a new person (not out of fear , but because she was excited & happy). My vet told me that this is a common thing with puppies, they get too excited and don’t have the appropriate control over their bladder muscles. But as Brit explained to me , a lot of it is also about exposure. Given my busy life , I didn’t have a ton of time to spend taking her around places and intentionally having guests over just so she could get used to seeing new people. During the boarding/training program, they prioritized socializing Cricket with other dogs, new people , & in different environments - and this inconvenient tendency Cricket previously had has entirely vanished. Miracle!! This program is well worth the investment, I can’t say enough good things about it. You get what you pay for, and having a well behaved , well adjusted dog is priceless. I’ve already received lots of compliments on Cricket’s behavior, and I will continue to sing the praises of this fantastic team – thank you Brit, Emily, and Matt! The folks at K9 Instincts are amazing! We brought two pups to them who were anxious, jumped on people, reactive to other dogs, barked at every little thing, and we took home two dogs who were so well behaved! It is life changing. We used to have to crate the dogs when people came to visit, and now guests can come right in and the pups stay down until we tell them- and no barking! We can even take them for enjoyable walks. It was worth every penny. We really needed her to be able to hold a down stay for long period of time due to the anther of my job and she’s far exceeding our expectations. The trainers are professional caring people and they did an excellent job with our pups Cash and Morgan. We had our previous dogs we owned trained over 13 years ago and this organization has not missed a beat. They are excellent people and we highly recommend them. I had my dog trained here for 4 weeks. Best decision I made. My dog is now great on the leash, off the leash at the park and has amazing recall. Before training another dog or squirrel would set off the tugging on the leash or a mad dash to chase with no recall. No longer. I can take my dog anywhere and have complete control. My fellow dog friends are all envious now that they see the results. We had such a positive experience working with K9 instincts for our rescue puppy Bowen. He was unsure of himself/expectations and exhibited many “typical puppy” behaviors that we didn’t want to become habits. Through training he gained so much confidence, obedience, structure and a balanced temperament. Aside from their expertise, the team at K9 instincts is truly dedicated to long-term success for both the dog and owner(s). Their support doesn’t end after training. Reinforcing everything he learned will be a lifelong commitment and the team has made themselves accessible for continued help/advice!
